Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), is simply blood that contains a high concentration of platelets and plasma. These components naturally circulate in the blood, aiding the body in clotting, releasing growth factors, and promote healing on a cellular level.
PRP hair restoration uses platelets and plasma from your own blood to treat hair loss. It works by promoting healing, regeneration, and growth. Studies indicate that PRP treatment for hair loss can increase hair growth, thickness, and density. Additionally, it can help protect the hair follicles by increasing the blood flow, thereby, preventing hair loss.
Men and women experiencing hair thinning, patterned hair loss, a widening part, and/or receding hairline.
Patients will begin noticing improvements in hair texture and thickness within a few weeks of treatment. After 2-3 months, patients witness new growth. Peak results are achieved within 6 months of treatment. Generally, 4 to 6 treatments are recommended every 4-6 weeks, with touch ups every 6-12 months to sustain and enhance results. Treatment plan will be dependent on the individual's hair loss severity and desired outcome.
