Testosterone Replacement Therapy

Testosterone is a hormone in the body that plays a pivotal role in regulating bone and muscle mass, fat distribution, sex drive, ability to achieve erection, sperm production, red blood cell production, and more.

Testosterone levels naturally decline as we age. This decline can begin at 30-40 years. Other factors that affect testosterone levels include: chronic disease, thyroid levels, obesity and certain types of cancer. 

Treatment will include a once-a-week injection into the muscle to restore natural levels of testosterone in the body. 

Our provider will look at your testosterone levels and symptoms to determine the prescribed dose. Other lab work will be considered to rule out and/or address any other causes of low testosterone or experienced symptoms. 

Before starting Testosterone Replacement Therapy: Blood work will be required prior to starting THT. Treatment will be based on lab values and symptoms. Repeat labs will also be required at 6 months after starting treatment to ensure safe and effective treatment. With continuation of treatment, annual labs will be required.
